Russell Fork Wildflowers & River Walks
The mountains around Breaks Interstate Park green up fast in April. Pair the Towers Tunnel Overlook with a wildflower walk along the Russell Fork, then drive down to the Below The Dam Recreation Area for a picnic.

Reservoir, ATV Trails & Family Reunions

October is the busiest weekend window of the year. Foliage in Breaks Park peaks mid-to-late October, and the Russell Fork dam releases bring Class IV+ whitewater that paddlers travel from across the country to run.

Winter · December - February
Quiet Stays, Stargazing & Remote Work

The Breaks Park First-Timer
Friday check-in, dinner at La Casa Mexicana in Haysi. Saturday drive to Breaks Interstate Park for the Towers Overlook, Stateline Overlook, and a lunch stop at the lodge restaurant. Sunday morning, drive 2 minutes to the dam for a quiet walk before checkout.
The ATV Weekend
Trailer in Friday afternoon. Saturday all-day ride on Spearhead or Ridgeview. Sunday short loop and a Pizza Plus stop on the way out. Park the rig in the off-street drive - no parking-lot Tetris at a Grundy hotel.
The Family Reunion Weekend
Friday family dinner at the lodge. Saturday gathering at the Haysi Kiwanis Park shelter or the Below The Dam Recreation Area. Sunday breakfast in the suite, group photos at the dam overlook, then drive home.
